Automatic MSC-Controlled Cue Numbering

Post by Russell Ault » Wed May 18, 2011 8:09 am

I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but given the power of being able to control SCS with MIDI Show Control, would it be possible to add an option somewhere that would, when using an external MSC controller, either automatically set all of the "MIDI/DMX Cue" numbers to be the same as normal "Cue" number, or allow SCS to ignore the "MIDI/DMX Cue" numbers and just use the "Cue" numbers directly?

The example use-case I'm thinking of is using Palladium's MSC output to control SCS with far more flexibility (and far more cues) than the built-in "Palladium" MIDI control method. Palladium is perfectly happy to output whatever you put in its "Id" column as an MSC Cue number, including letters, and an option like this would save the trouble of manually entering another cue number into each SCS cue, especially since, unlike other cuing methods, MSC can cue a basically unlimited number of cues. Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me! (but then... why wouldn't it? ;-)
