On the fly audio level change

Post by Hornett » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:20 am

i noticed that when i tried to make an audio level change in the main window it did not allow me to save it. It did allow me to make a change to the desired level but it did not give me the option to save that for next time. instead you have to go to the edit window and chage it there. is this normal.

thanks

When you make a change to a cue's level or pan setting on the main screen, the Save Settings button at the top of the screen will be enabled. This enables you to save your level or pan change without having to go back to the Editor.

thanks for the quick reply Mike, what i mean is if i have a Sound Cue that is at a set level, and then place another cue to change that audio level (Required Audio Level or Target Level). I can change the level maunaly of the sound cue which then you can save, but the Target level cannot be changed except in the edit screen, does that make more sence? I dont know how usefull it would be for others but i found in rehersal the other day the Cue was too loud so changed the level then realised that i had changed the level so it was the same as the target level, i knew it had to be about 5db lower and wanted to change it but could not. I have attached a jpeg so it should make more sence.

Seems a good idea. Maybe if the manual change is applied after a Level Change has completed then the 'save settings' drop-down menu should be updated for the Level Change cue (target level) rather than the original Audio File cue.

that would be a really great feature mike, i find myself wanting to do that a lot (saving the level of the fade down cue)
perhaps in the save settings drop down it could have an option to save levels to original cue, or to fade cue

This is now available in SCS 10.7.4 RC2.

I didn't implement the "option to save levels to original cue" after a Level Change cue has been played, mainly because I forgot about it when I changed the program. See how you go with this and let me know if you still see a need for the "option to save levels to original cue".
