Hi Mike,
I know this topic has been addressed multiple times already, but I haven't found a solution here in the forum so far.
I work in an opera house, and every year we have a ballet where we don't have an orchestra, only playback. In this situation, it is often the case that the Stage Manager needs to give light and stage cues based on the cue times in SCS. It would be great if SCS could provide an external screen for the Stage Manager that would, for example, display only the current cue, the next cue, and the respective run times (up and down), and perhaps even the waveform of the currently running cue.
At the moment, we tap into the SCS screen signal and feed it through a video mixer (to crop the image and only show the lower part of the cue list) to the Stage Manager. This is a bit cumbersome and not really up-to-date anymore.
Or is there another, simpler solution that I don't know about?
Best regards,
Heiko
External (info-)screen for stage manager
Re: External (info-)screen for stage manager
Heiko,
As a workaround would a Note Cue displayed on a 2nd screen and triggered by a Cue Marker do it for you?
You could attach a 2nd HDMI screen to the PC and run it over ethernet to the stage. Then have a series of Note Cues - Eg GO Swans (My knowledge of Ballet is very limited) displayed for say 2 seconds on the 2nd screen.
I've used this similar approach for cueing my lighting guy for lightening just before my thunder and it worked reasonably well. But accept you may have a while host of cues so may make it impractical.
Phil.

Re: External (info-)screen for stage manager
Hi Phil,
Thanks for your suggestion.
That would work, but it would be way too much effort to program. We would have to create each individual light or stage cue as a note cue and then trigger it in the song. In a ballet performance, that would add up to several hundred cues. A programming nightmare.
)))
It would actually be more sensible and practical for us to simply display the cue times on an external monitor.
Best regards,
Heiko
