Hey there,
I would love to be able to decide, whether Cue VST Plugins are send to pre or post fader.
This way I could have reverb FX tails to continue after a cue has finished, or drive into a distortion plugin... basically every non-linear FX plugin there is would benefit from it.
It seems like STOP cues would still not allow reverb tails to continue...but with a level change you could fade to 0 and then stop after the tail has ended (as a workaround).
Ultimately being able to have something like VST plugin Cues would be amazing. Or something like send cues, to send to a plugin...
Many thanks in advance,
Hannes

Hi Hannes, there is a way to avoid tearing off the reverb tail. The plugin then does not have to be hooked into the audio clip, but rather into an extra SCS audio output. Then send your audio clip to both outputs, the original and the additional one. Make sure that the mix of the plugin is set to max (wet) and get the additional SCS output via your interface on the console. Now you can send the effect to this extra output of your clip and control the effect return via the additional signal on your console. This is also how you would connect analog effects devices to mixing consoles; the plugin works permanently, regardless of whether something is currently running. Another advantage of this approach is that the effect can be used for multiple clips.
Hope i could help,
Uwe

Hey Uwe,
thanks, great idea!
If it would be possible to manipulate VST FXs in an automation way, that would be next level.

...just a quick info:
With Reapers ReaRoute Asio driver and a system MidiLoop like LoopBe1 I am able to trigger VSTs in Reaper via Midi Qs.
This way reverb tails without a dedicated mixing setup or tape stops become possible. And once you free your mind, really anything =)
