Mono Output (in 10.1.0)

Mike, would there be any way to have a stereo audio file be output as a mono signal - essentially a dynamic mono-mixdown?

In our theater, the house speakers, from which all of the Preshow/Intermission music is directed, are run from a mono output mixer. Unfortunately, the mixer takes in stereo input, but only directs the left channel to output. What I've been doing is mixing down my music files to mono in order to have the proper balance, but that can be a pain if there is a lot of music. Obviously, a hardware fix would work between my laptop and the input, but my mono connectors have a way of disappearing at the theater.

Would it be possible to have a checkbox on the Mixer Level Options for the individual audio devices, specifying whether we want the output to be stereo, or mono mixed? Or potentially, even as an audio output option on individual cues?

I am planning to be able to down-mix stereo to mono, but not sure quite when this will be available.
