Hotkey/Toggle for image fade

Post by Nino » Wed Aug 30, 2023 8:31 am

Hi people,

Can anyone suggest a simple way to use a hotkey or toggle to fade out and restore the currently playing video/image file. There have recently been a number of times when I have needed to fade the current image and bring it back due to unexpected hitches during a show. Any ideas?

You can achieve this with a "FADE ALL" ('shift+ESC) while playing your image.
To resume the same image you then hit "GO" again.
Set the fade in of the image the same time of the fade out time for the "FADE ALL", I think it is 5sec by default but can be change in the general settings.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion but fade all stops all playing cue whereas I am only wanting to pause the playing video cue. Additionally, following a fade all, the next cue to go may not be the current video cue depending on when the fade all is used. But thanks for the suggestion...

You can create a SFR cue with the action "FADE OUT and then STOP" to "All earlier video/image cues"
And add activation mode to hotkey.

Maybe this helps.

How about a SFR cue with the action "FADE OUT and then HIBERNATE" to "All playing video/image cues"?
Restore with "RESUME hibernating cue (with fade in if applicable)".
I haven't tried it, so I have no idea if it works! RESUME may not like the possibility of more than one image being hibernated.
