Mike, I don't know if this suggestion has been made before, but I would find it useful to be able to put an "expiration date" on specific images in a playlist. That is, I would like to be able to specify a date afterwhich an image in a playlist would no longer be displayed when the playlist is run.
In our theater, we run pre-show slides that advertise upcoming show Audition dates. But usually the Auditions for our upcoming show are held during the run of performances for our current show. So once the Auditions have been completed, the Audition announcement slide is out-of-date, and no longer needs to included in our pre-show playlist. But, in order to exclude the slide, someone has to manually edit the playlist to remove the slide. Invariably, we forget to remove it and end up running the out-of-date slide until somebody notices.
If the exclusion process could be automated up-front, we wouldn't end up looking like chumps running in-the-past slides ahead of our shows.

Re: Expiration date for Playlist Images
Interesting idea, Dan, but for now I think you'll need to rely on your calendar! We use Google Calendar which can send you email or message reminders.
