[Mod 11.9.1] Live Video high latency and low frame rate issue

Hi Mike,

I'm trying to set up live video for the next production. Upgraded to SCS 11.9.0. Unfortunately that's not working as expected.

I'm using an simple HDMI Grabber "MACROSILICON USB Video" USB VID=534D PID=2109 which uses the standard "Camera" Class "ca3e7ab9-b4c3-4ae6-8251-579ef933890f".

Not sure if this is a bug or just a "missing feature". I'm able to reproduce the same problem with VLC. Other software like OBS works perfectly.

Unfortunately this on is a show stopper. The latency of the video is around 1 second and the frame rate probably 5 or 10 fps.

The signal source is capable of 1920x1080@60fps. As said I can reproduce this with VLC. If I open the capture device in VLC with standard settings i.e. not setting something explicit. However if I explicitly set values like Video Size 1920x1080, Aspect Ratio 16:9, Frame Rate 30 fps. It also works perfectly in VLC.
I'd suspect that SCS does not set/initialize the device capture parameters and the "standard ones" of the device (which are probably set to min frame rate or something) are used?
I've not found anything in SCS where the capture parameters can be set, right?

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks,
Dennis

Dennis,

I've emailed you details of the TVG demo program so you can try this and see if there are any available settings that can be changed to provide better performance.

The following change in 11.9.1 addresses this issue: "In Production Properties / Video Capture devices you may now select the video format, eg 'MJPG 1280x720 (5 to 30 fps)', and Frame Rate. Setting these may improve video capture performance."
