[Fix 11.8.3] Video size and position

While I've done a lot of shows with images, this is my first using a video. I find that the image size and location only really effect the first frame. Then it switches back to 100% and the default position.

I've tried all the video settings, and changing some of the LAV filter settings. But these seem to have no effect.

Is changing video size and location even possible or do I have to edit the actual video?

Thanks,

Gene

Cue is c17 in attached cue sheet. I attempted to send the video but it foesn't like video aparently.

A log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Please email a relevant log file to support@showcuesystems.com.

Hi Mike,

I created a new blank production with only a single video cue in it. Changed the size. and only the first image changed.

I then changed the video driver to default and restarted the system. And there was no change.

The actual projector is attached to a dvi...jpeg...cat5...jpeg...projector cable. But I've also tried it with just a monitor into the dvi with same results.

Attached are the logs and the SCS file.

The logs were from a run using SCS 11.7.1.3. I see from our web log that you have now downloaded the latest version (11.8.1.2). If you still have this problem when using 11.8.1.2 please provide a log from a run using this latest version.

This is embarrassing, when I tried to install the latest version of SCS last month at the theatre, I found our internet access was down, and intended to upgrade later. But never got a round toit.

I upgraded my home system and low and behold the video seems to work with 11.8.1.2 and reinstalling all the LAV filters.

I'll be upgrading the theatre system today and will let you know.

FWIW I uploaded the video to my Amazon S3 account here https://pml-temp.s3.amazonaws.com/fightv1.avi

Thanks,

Gene

With the 11.8.1.2 version, I can change the video sizes. However, I have to change the size in the editor, and exit the editor and play the video. Playing the video in the editor always plays to old size/position.

However, this version did something to "cancel" . If you cancel anything, like starting a cue and then cancelling the image selection. It exits the editor.

Are you sure it exits the editor and doesn't just set focus back to the main window? If this does happen then it's probably a scenario I haven't yet fixed.

Hi Mike

I came here to report video editor issues and found this thread.

I have an mpg of a waterfall that I’m projecting onto the scenery where the painters have whited out for me.

I’m using custom size, position and aspect in SCS (the latest version as of about a month ago).

The “Preview on monitor 2” doesn’t output in the same position as the live output, so just like the OP, I have to leave the editor, play the cue, decide I need it higher/wider/etc, go back to editor, adjust it blind, then repeat.

I’ll attach logs and sample files when I’m at theatre later.

You should find video size and position issues fixed in 11.8.3.
