[Resolved] Unable to run SCS with any Video cues

Post by rforsey » Fri Feb 01, 2019 2:59 pm

Recently updated our production computer to SCS 11.8.0
Had report from sound designer that screen had gone black.

I found that the main SCS application had moved to screen 2 and was no longer full size. Screen 1 was black. I managed to drag SCS partley into screen 1 and then shutdown SCS. This released the blackou on screen 1 so I could see part of SCS when it was restarted.

The current production does not have any video cues so the problem appeared to have gone away. However, I was attempting to create a test production with a video cue and triggered the problem.

1. Created a new test production from our current template.
2. Added a new video cue in the editor.
3. The second screen went black as expected.
4. Attempted to run the video cue in the editor.
5. SCS main window moved to screen 2 and the SCS editor stayed in screen 1.
6. Exiting the SCS editor was a bad move, as I was left with a black screen and no way of returning focus to to the main SCS window.
7. Opening the test production immediately put SCS into the splt screen mode. The only way out was to delete the video cue and save the test production and drag SCS window back into screen 1.

I don't have the same problem on my test computer, so it's something about the configuration of the production computer.

Prior to the upgrade it was running two projectors OK.

That's weird. A log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Please email me any relevant log files.

After further testing it looks like it's a hardware problem in the Graphics card used by the OHP.

It went crazy just running two displays.

Definately not a problem in SCS.
