Hi Mike,

I am running SCS 11.6.1 (11.6.0 appeared to do the same) on win 7.

I am showing images onto a projector, screen 2, 4:3, 1024 x 768. When windows fires up the aspect ratio is correct then when I run the slides on SCS the width increases fractionally, maybe to 1200, the height is the same. (Projector is on a VGA cable). I have tried the backup laptop with the same results. There are no error messages.

When I trigger Q17.5 the aspect ratio corrects itself and all is well until Q82.2 (2nd slide) when the projector looses the video signal momentarily then comes back up in the slightly enlarged aspect ratio, after cycling though a blank screen with the projector menu display. It then continues on until the end of the show in the slightly enlarged aspect ratio. It doesn't happen every run through but more often than not. The show I am doing starts on Thursday. I haven't used a projector before on SCS so no history to report. I hope that all makes sense.

I will PM a diagnostic file. I feel that is something with SCS because only those cues mentioned above trigger (and correct) the problem even though they have the same settings as other slides.

Hi Mike,
Further to the previous post, the projector lost its video driver (I assume) twice this evening, on cues 71.3 & 82.2 and reset the projector.

Geoff.

Geoff,

I've emailed you details of a tracing version to run. Regarding the projector resetting, could that be caused by MIDI commands you are sending in control send cues?

Copy of a PM sent to Mike.

Hi Mike,

I have worked out the problem, after much consternation. The problem is attenuation over a 20 metre VGA cable.

What stuffed me up is that I have successfully used that projector over that cable for playing movies, albeit from a different computer, and for some strange reason the problem regularly occurred when only that one particular cue was triggered, can't explain that one, I am running lots of slides with repeats of the same one.

So I went back to basics and found that the projector worked fine with the cues over a 5 metre cable. So I will get a vga booster of some description tomorrow. Its logical when you know the answer.

Sorry to put you to the trouble of analysing a non existent problem with SC.

Best regards and thank you for your prompt attention.
