Audio level change cue in V 11.3.8

Hi There,
I have an show going up this week and I'm having some issues with Show Cue System V 11.3.8.
For some reason, when I set up a level change cue, the level changes and then seems to jump around for the remainder of the file that is playing. I'm not sure why. I've tried everything from normalizing the audio using other software, to enabling/disabling audio settings.
The file plays fine when no level change is applied, I only seem to have the issue with the audio when a level change is applied to a cue.
Please help ASAP.
