[Resolved] Error with Auto Start SCS 10.6

Post by michael messick » Mon May 05, 2014 1:20 am

I have been using SCS 10.6.3 for several years and it has worked perfectly. I've recently gotten an error that prevents auto start for Cue files.

Error The specified command requires an alias, file, driver, or device name. Please supply one.
SCS 10.6.3
ProcName = casProcess
mciString= play
CueFile = Z:\Cover to Cover\Cover to Cover.scs

I don't know how to supply the information.
This file has been working fine until recently and the .scs file works on the backup computer.
Tried System Restore on the main computer to fix any possible configuration changes, but no System changes had been made.

Is there some configuration on my computer that needs to be changed or is the SCS file somehow corrupt?

Thanks,
Mike Messick

This would have occurred on trying to play a MIDI file. Do you have a MIDI interface available on this machine? Could you email me the cue file (Cover to Cover.scs)? Also a screenshot of the "MIDI Devices & Control" tab under Permanent Options would be helpful.

Thanks Mike. The midi interface is via an external soundcard (through Midi-OX filtering).
I reformatted t he flash drive and re-loaded all the cues from my backup file and now it seems to be working.
I must have had a corrupt file on that drive.
If the problem returns, I'll send you the files, but otherwise I don't want to waste your time.

I appreciate the quick response.
