[Fix 11.2.4] Cannot add an audio cue - SCS crashes

I have created a template file containing my default channel definitions.
I have 16 output channels defined. (Using 2 M-Audio Delta 1010s) I also have a license for this many channels.

1. I have created a play list cue. This worked fine.
2. I try to add an audio cue and SCS issues the following error message and then crashes

Error: Not available

SCS 11.2.3
....
ProcName: openMediaFile)Q2)
Channel update(5000) for Q2 failed

(I have attached a snapshot of the error screen and the dump file.

I can add more files to the audio cue, just cannot create other audio cues.

Thanks

Although I don't have the equipment to reproduce what you are doing, I did at least partially reproduce the error. I'll look into this further next week, but from the testing I've done I think it's caused by not having any Audio Output Device selected for "Auto-Include this device when adding new cues" (see Production Properties - Audio Output Devices). Since no device was selected, SCS incorrectly tried to use "Front" (the default name for the first device) but since "Front" does not exist the program subsequently fails.

Let me know if this work-around fixes the problem. I'll then be able to work on a solution.

Mike,

The work-around that you suggested allowed me to create new cues. I do not understand why the "Front" speakers were still defined since I deleted them.

Anyway, I removed and re-installed the software and created a new template file and everything is working as advertised.

Thanks

Brian

The "Front" assignment is created in the default production properties, which should only have been used when creating a new production from the 'New' button. However, it was incorrectly left in the production properties if no device was selected for auto-include.

I've fixed that now in 11.2.4 RC1 (just issued).
