Windows 7. "Not responding" when SPACE pressed.

I have this problem on my laptop which was first reported by an SCS user in 2009. I've recently updated to SCS11.1.6 and it still occasionally persists.

The advice on the forum at the time was to press either the left or right CTRL at startup to bypass something. One respondent subsequently advised that...." I've now set the permanent option to 'ignore ASIO' and it launches perfectly."

Grateful for advice on how to set this permanant option.

Holding down the Right Ctrl Key when starting SCS prevents SCS trying to use ASIO. In SCS 10 this helped in situations where the installed ASIO driver seemed to be incompatible with the BASS ASIO library used in SCS. By ignoring ASIO, this forced SCS to only use the DirectSound components.

In SCS 11 this should no longer be necessary as SCS only accesses the BASS ASIO library if your device map specifies ASIO.

Can you see any pattern regarding the occasions on which you get the "Not responding" message?

Could you email me a diagnostic dump file? You can create this file by starting SCS and selecting 'Create Diagnostic Dump File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps" under "Documents" or "My Documents". Also tell me which cue(s) you've noticed this problem with.
