[Resolved] Not Projecting to 2nd Screen

Post by ActorRick » Sun Jan 31, 2016 8:39 am

Greetings,

So we have a show going into preview on Thursday so I'm hoping to get this squared away quickly.

When I cue up a video it will pop a screen up on the monitor rather than going to the projector. The projector works fine in all other modes so I have to think it's an issue with SCS. We've had this issue once before but switching the video render did the trick. Not so this time.

We are using 11.1.5 and here is the .dmp file.

[The extension dmp has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

Thank you for your help and great product.

Was that .dmp file taken with the projector connected? The file shows that SCS only detected a single monitor.

Yes, it is connected. And works on all other apps and configurations.

Note that your secondary screen must be configured in Windows as an extension of the Windows desktop, not a duplication of the desktop. Can you check that?

Extension. Okay. I have it on 2nd screen. I'll get that squared away tomorrow then. Thank you.

Greetings,

So I got into the theatre today and did the extension thing. It's still not working. It will put the monitor on the 2nd screen and give me a blank on my monitor. When switched to the other setting, it will blank the projector and pop a second screen on the monitor.

Here is the updated .dmp file.

The latest .dmp file is showing that SCS is still only detecting a single monitor, 1024x768. I've just installed the same version of SCS (11.1.5) on my Windows 10 machine and SCS detects my two monitors correctly.

Could you tell me which version of Windows you are using, and also post or email me a screenshot showing the Windows dialog that shows the display settings. When you click 'Identify', do you get 1 displayed on one screen and 2 displayed on the other screen?

Rick has advised me that this is now working, having set the correct desktop settings and also installing the latest version of SCS.
