Hi!
I am using the rc2 version for my shows now, and 'till now there was no sign of this asio driver stalling issue.
However there is a problem with one of my cues in rc2. There is an auto-start cue (starting ca. 11 secs after the previous) containing 4 audio subcues, each starts in different time relative to each other or to the cue itself. The problem is, that in this version they are not played correctly, causing an infinite loop, replaying the first 5 secs of the cue.
If I modify the relative values, that fixes it, but after a restart, the problem is back again.
Didn't have this earlier, so I hope it will be fixed in the stable release.
Thank You!

I presume this issue is reproducible in RC2, so I'll email you details of a tracing version to run.

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately I can't replicate the ASIO stalling problem at all in 11.4.1 - it has only ever happened at the theatre when I'm not there :( I did verify that RC3 stops the computer from sleeping or turning off the display even when I set short timeouts.
BritGeek wrote: ...after I choose the "Close SCS" option and restart SCS it has forgotten the latest cue file and I have to manually re-open it.
I tried this in RC3 and the cue file is now retained, thanks.
BritGeek wrote:If I forget to turn on the audio interface (Behringer FCA610 using ASIO) before starting SCS I get the message that the device cannot be initialized, as expected. If I turn on the interface and hit the "Try again" button it doesn't work, I just get the message again; I have to choose the "Close SCS" option and restart it in order for SCS to see the interface.
When I press the "Try Again" button in RC3 it now crashes. Diagnostic file and screen shot attached, let me know if you need more info - it's easily repeatable for me. I had to save the diagnostic file in a separate session because the crash occurs before I even get to the main screen.

Dear all,
Sorry for delayed response, but I noticed too late there is real issue with SCS.

SCS Version is 11.4.1.1
OS: Win 10 (regulary updated)
Sound card is DANTE Virtual Sound Card (Network) in ASIO mode. (And it worked like a dream with SCS until update to 11.4.1.1!)
Soundcraft Si Performer 2 with DANTE and MADI
2 stereo channels as FOH and FX

First time, 4-5 days ago it hanged up during the show:
PC was idle for over an hour.
SCS started the cue but meters were showing no indication.
Restarted SCS, nothing happened.
Restarted DANTE DVS, restarted SCS, sound was garbled and distorted
Restarted PC, loaded SCS, everything was fine till the end of the 2 hour long show.
No any signs or alerts from either a SCS or DVS that something went wrong

Second time, two days ago, hanged before the show:
Just a minute before the start, I have checked it (it was again idle after sound check for approx 45 minutes or more)
SCS meters show audio running, but sound desk show no signal present. Checked it with faders up, no sound.
Restarted, everything was fine. Show was 2 Hours long.
Again, No error reporting or alerts from either a SCS or DVS that something went wrong

Third time, today it hanged in the middle of the show, after exactly one hour.
It hanged unexpectedly although I have restated and tested before the show (just in case) and cued approx 20 cues flawlessly.
I have even "keep it alive" with faders down and cueing between the cues.
I have started the cue,SCS Meters show signal but no signal at the desk!

Luckily I have had time till the next cue to restart and connect spare laptop with backup over USB sound card.
Till the end of show it performed as should although it was 1 hour 30 minutes left with rare cues. No need for backup.
Again, no error reports (and sadly, I have forgot to make diagnostic file.)

Questions rise:
1. Would it be safe to run on DirectSound/WDM (as DANTE supports it multi-channel) instead of ASIO until issue is solved or does SCS - WDM combination have the same issues?

2. Our Update License expired just after 11.4.1.1 release, so we cannot even run RC 1-4 versions, is there a help to that? (I have experience with beta-testing software)

In hope we can all contribute and make it reliable again,

Best regards

This should all be fixed in 11.4.2, but let me know if you still have any issues as I cannot test all audio interface brands.
