[Fix 11.4.2]Audio cue current pos stops displaying in editor

Post by Stuart Barry » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:55 pm

When editing a cue file, initially the current position marker in the audio graph and the green Completed slider behave themselves normally i.e. when you press the Test button both the slider and current position marker advance with the playing cue. However, after performing editing on the cue file for some minutes I find that when testing any audio cue, the current position marker and Completed slider just stop moving even though the file itself is playing.

As you can appreciate this issue is a nuisance when one is trying to use the current position marker or completed slider to determine whereabouts in the audio cue file you are when trying to set fade/fade out points, relative start end/points etc. The only workaround that I have found is to close and re-open SCS. I have been unable to determine whether I am performing a particular sequence of operations to lead to this problem but it just seems to happen after a while whenever I am doing any editing.

I am currently running SCS 11.4.1.1 on Windows 8.1 although I have observed this same issue in previous versions of SCS and on several different PCs/Windows versions.

For me this has been such an ongoing and obvious issue with SCS that I am surprised no one else appears to have reported it - at least I can find no similar problem report on this forum. Perhaps it does only happen to me.

I hope you can help.

I have not used SCS in a while but I am on the latest file and working on a kids musical and I am getting the same behaviour. it feels like I need to go to another cue and then come back to the one I am working on to refresh things and then things seem to work. This is also the case when using a level point. the value is not updated all the time in the display in the editor. You need to go to another cue and then come back and then it refreshes and works correctly (for a while)

Thanks
Gary

I too have seen this behavior occasionally while working in the Editor.

I've not encountered this myself, even when editing fade points etc, so I've emailed each of you with details of a tracing version that should help me see what's happening.

It was behaving weird this morning for a little bit during our tech rehearsal but this was before I had the tracing version. I am playing with it at home with the tracing version and everything is working fine. will try and make it misbehave :)

I have had the same situation and workaround as Stuart. It happened again only yesterday. I'm using 11.4.1.1 and we're still using XP Professional lol.
