[Fix 11.2.1] Video settings in 11.2.1rc2 not saved properly

Post by Curt » Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:17 am

Greetings

Just encountered an issue which is a show stopper (for me at least) - I now need to revert to another program like VPT or Arkaos for the Video projection...again.
I have added several "pictures" as Video/Image cues each one of them requires changes in size, x-pos, y-pos and aspect ratio.
When I run through the show, sometimes these individual settings are not maintained and the image reverts to "original" or "full screen" size... as said, only sometimes.
When I add an sfx to stop all previous video/images to stop any activity (maybe a sane attempt to fool the system into behaving), then the individual aspect ratios of each image are almost always completely lost again.
When a sound cue is still playing while I fade in an image, the aspect is always wrong (i.e. the individual changes are ignored)
Thanks for the copy - paste of the video/image aspect ratio settings, I have used it a lot to reset the wrong aspect ratios....
This drives me nuts...Any ideas on this?

Also, as I have asked for before, the Trapeze correction for a beamer not perfectly in line with the screen would really...really help a lot.

Hey, the sound side of the tool is working nicely - thanks for that.

Regards
Curt

I've run a few tests and found (and now fixed) a bug associated with 'Stop Everything', which could cause SCS to use an 'old' image of the full window. This bug is fixed in SCS 11.2.1 RC4 (just uploaded) so could you try this version?

Curt, your projector should have a keystone correction, which is used in the event that the projector cannot be lined up perfectly with the screen.

Greetings
Mike, many thanks for the very quick correction update (11.2.1rc4) of the software.
I have now run the show for a number of days and alas, all the images kept their designated x and yPos as well as their sizes.
Saved my day.... and greatly reduced the complexity of running the show (otherwise I would have needed to run another laptop for the video and images).

As to the suggestion by Eric, correct, the projector does have a keystone correction, both optical and electronic.
However the correctional effects by the built in "tools" are minimal, basically they are able to correct some minimal discrepancies from the perfect throw angle and thats about it.
I would rather have the ability to set the beamer without having to worry about the alignment and correct that in software, similar to VPT 6.x or any other advanced "projection mapping" software.
Also, I could then address different projection fronts (e.g. the famous carton box heap with many projection surfaces on the different faces of each box)

Hope that helps to understand the requirement.
Regards :D
