4k video poor quality

Post by scadger » Wed Mar 20, 2019 11:46 pm

Trying to play back H264 (MP4) 4k video file as a video cue but they are smaller than 3840x2160 and low quality (jagged edges, low brightness). They play perfectly with Windows Media Player on the same laptop. I've looked at the LAV settings etc but can't see anything that seems to improve it. Any ideas how to get it to play at good quality?

This is an issue I've been looking into. The current version of TVideoGrabber (the main video playback library used by SCS, which I refer to as TVG) doesn't support hardware acceleration. The latest version, however, does support hardware acceleration, but unfortunately I've found a bug in that version which makes it unusable with SCS. I am also planning to revisit vMix. I ran some tests with vMix a few years ago and it was not then suitable for linking to SCS, but I recently had another look at their web site and there have been many improvements to the product since then. vMix does support hardware acceleration.

Thanks for your response. It is certainly something I will be needing but I'll have to fire off video playback outside SCS for now, which is a shame. It is comprehensive in all other respects from what I've seen.
