Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
Hi,
I know it's been a while since this conversation started and that there are newer ones on the forum but from the discussion above am I right in thinking that the delay fade feature on the matrix will allow movement of sound in the way that LCS and Timax do?
Sorry to be so late in joining in!
Gary

Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
I've looked on the forum and in the documentation and I think I'm missing something.
Can someone point me to the delay setting for live inputs (either devices or in live input cues) please? I am on a show being played in a railway arch to an audience outside the arch. I am going to reinforce the sound from inside the arch but want to make use of the Haas effect so the audience can't tell the sound is amplified. It calls for a simple delay on the mic inputs but I can't find the setting.
Thanks

If you're wanting to do this with live inputs then unfortunately this feature has not been implemented in SCS. If you are using a digital mixer for your mics then you may be able to implement this effect directly in the mixer.
Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
I was hoping to do it in Soundman. I believe the capability is built in to the server. Is there a plan to implement control of that parameter in the crosspoint? - there was a bit of a discussion about it when live inputs were first talked about.
I could hook up my delay unit but as this is an outside show, I was considering buying Soundman as a software replacement that I didn't have to carry to the site or rig up!

Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
Unfortunately there are no plans in the short term to add this functionality.
Re: SoundMan-Server in SCS 11
Fortunately, I don't need to control the delay during the show, I just need it to be there. Therefore I can set the delay parameters using a simple command issued in a separate telnet interface (if I had SCS ProPlus I could issue this as a telnet control send cue at the start of the show).
This seems to work as long as I open the telnet window before I start SCS. If I open the telnet session after SCS has started, all my commands come back as invalid. When I look in the log, the text commands are all preceded by random characters. Not a big problem because it works if I open the apps in the right order.
Another alternative might be to control SM-S with Midi Show Control, which is referenced on the RSD website but I can't see any documentation on how to do that so I guess it isn't implemented.

Hi Barney - I will report your results regarding the telnet invalidity to the developer and find out what might be happening. SM-S doesn't accept MSC directly, only via SoundMan-Designer. Charlie

Loren says: I've tried to duplicate this with two telnet sessions and can't, but then I don't have SCS installed. Maybe Mike can try it and see if he can duplicate it. If so, the log might be interesting.

Barneyd, a log file will have been created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of the file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Please email me the log file from a run in which the above occurred.
