QU-32
Re: QU-32
Sorry it's taken so long to reply I'm on my third production since I posted so spare time has been hard to come by. I know QU can be controlled with scenes but managing the scenes on the QU seems unduly complicated for 10 performances. I'm not comfortable yet with how to set a QU scene so that only the faders are effected. Currently I've got most of the mutes programmed as MIDI controls in SCS, and in a musical like I'm setting up now, All mics are unmuted and muted by SCS as needed. Ideally one could control the faders the same as a volume control, complete with the graphic display. But short of that it would be nice if there were an easier way to set up a cue to set a channel fader to 80dB and then call the cue as needed.

Re: QU-32
On the Qu you can go into GLOBAL SAFES and choose the parameters that will be affected by any scenes. So you could either choose to only have Mutes or Faders affected by a Scene.
The issue I have with the Qu is that there is no Scene Editor, so once you've written all you scenes you are stuck with that scene order on the console. For years Qu users have been requesting a Scene Editor in order to be able to move the order of scenes and edit scene parameters. It hasn't happened yet.

Re: QU-32
So is there a simple command we can send from SCS to control a fader position?.
An example command to set input fader 7 to 0db would be great.
I use Note on commands at the moment to mute/unmute channels but would like to be able to move the faders.
I've tried the command MIDI free format command
B1 63 20 B1 62 17 B1 06 6B B1 26 07
which is supposed to move input fader 1 to 0db but nothing moves
Tried midi capture and when I move fader 1, I get B0 63 20 returned, nothing else
so I tried
B0 63 20 B0 62 17 B0 06 6B B0 26 07 and it worked
where 0 = midi channel number -1
20 = QU fader number (20 is the first fader)
6B = Desired fader position, (-inf to +10db = 00 to 7F, 0db = 6B)
All numbers are Hex
Now to try and make sense of Sysex messages in SCS so I can title the channels
