SCS and Chamsys QuickQ

Post by Vilgaard » Wed May 29, 2024 2:42 am

Hi there!

I just started using SCS in our little community theatre. For lighting we use a QuickQ 30 from Chamsys. I already figured out how to send MTC to the desk, this works. With an SFR cue I can stop the MTC.
Problem with QuickQ is that it stays on the last timecode it received.

Is there another way to start a lighting cue in QuickQ with SCS? Timecode is great for songs where I like to program lights very specific timing but sometimes (most of the times) I just want to start a single light setting without sending MTC.

regards,
Jeroen

I have not used QuickQ I normally use the full Chamsys PC but I can trigger cues on that with OSC commands via the network using a control send cue in SCS. Alternatively can you set QuickQ to trigger different cues at different times, if so you can do this with multiple MTC cues.

e.g. QuickQ Cue 1 runs from 1:00:00 to 1:00:30
QuickQ Cue 2 runs from 1:10:00 to 1:10:25
etc

I would allow for a bit of preroll on the MTC cues to allow QuickQ to sync up. Note you won't be able to run more than 1 cue at a time with this method.

Does QuickQ allow MIDI note triggering?

Hello Dee,

Thank you for taking time to answer my question.
Never used OSC on my QuickQ but it appears to be possible. If not, I will use your other suggestion using the MTC. I don't think it's possible to use midi notes.

Jeroen
