Cues:subcues.

Post by Brian Alsup » Sat Apr 20, 2019 11:30 pm

I am a brand new user of SCS, but put together a show or two in Qlab. My question is, can one Fade que be used to fade and stop any of 13 sound files, and can the sound files be "grouped" by setting a container cue and then subcueing all the sound cues to allow one fade and stop any or all of the sound subcues?

A cue may have many sub-cues, and you can set up a separate SFR cue to fade out and stop an entire cue. Here's an example of this:

Q1: Audio file 1
Q1 sub-cue 2: Audio file 2
Q1 sub-cue 3: Audio file 3
etc - possibly adding all 13 audio files as further sub-cues of Q1

Q2 SFR cue: fade out and stop Q1, fade time override 4 seconds

At runtime, start Q1. All the sub-cues of Q1 will start playing (assuming all the relative start times are blank). When you want to fade out Q1, start Q2. This will fade out and stop all the sub-cues in Q1, using a 4-second fade out time.

Let me know if your scenario is different to the above.
