Cue fades only half-way, then stops... (fix in 10.3.0)

Post by escrge » Fri Nov 07, 2008 4:25 am

Using 10.2.0...

I have a wind cue that hibernates and resumes several times in a single act. The sound cue is set to fade up at 3.5 secs and fade out at 6 secs. The first two hibernation cues work perfectly. After that, every cue that calls for it to hibernate causes the cue to fade half-way, then holds for a moment, then cuts off. The resume cue, instead of fading up from -96, will start at the half-way mark where it cut off previously, then fade up to its set volume.

I have closed SCS and re-opened with no change and even moved from my designer laptop to the production PC with the same problem.

I have recreated this problem myself but the fades are not as severe. In my version I start a Song a Q1 then Q2 – Q7 are Fade and Hibernate, and Resume to Fade in, alternately. The first fade goes smoothly to the end, Resume seems to jump, a fraction then fade up smoothly, next fade will stop about 2 dashes before the end not half way as in escrge’s version, and then stop, each Resume Jumps up fast then smoothly goes to full volume. There is something there causing a problem, in my version you would not notice it much sense it stops almost at the end but I can see how it would be problem to stop Half way, then drop out. I tried using the fade overrides, but no change.

Yes, I tried the fade overrides too with no difference. My jumps are very noticeable.

I've found the errors with the fade in and fade out of hibernated cues, and have emailed you both details of a fix to download.

Using 10.2
I'm having the same sort of problem, Fade & Hibernate works the first time but resumes and later fade&hibernates just leave the volume at 0 even though the file is running. Changinging it to pause& hibernate and it works ok but it is then a bit abrupt!! :?

Can you please send me the fix Mike or is 10.2.1 on the way?

SCS file emailed to you.
regards
Boswell
