Show Cue System

Hi, I'm running SCS Professional 8.4.3, using an Echo Indigo soundcard with my laptop, so I have one stereo out to the desk.

Is it possible to fade out multiple cues together with this setup? I see the "stop all previous" but the fade option only lets you choose one previous cue.

I want to layer multiple sound cues sequentially [4 in this case] based on what's happening on stage, then fade them all together rather than an abrupt stop while bringing in another cue.

Presently the only option I see is to put the last cue [a telephone loop] on minidisc and fade the multiple loops manually from the desk followed by a stop all previous. Thought I'd ask as this is something I have multiple uses for in an upcoming show.

Is this something that midi could do? I'm not midi-fied yet so that's not an option for me timewise on this project.

Why not create a Level Change cue for each cue you want to fade out so that LC1 will fade out Q1, LC2 will fade out Q2 etc.? If you want everything to fade at the same rate set all the Level Change times the same. Set LC1 for manual activation and LC2, LC3 and LC4 for auto-activation 0.0 seconds after the start of LC1. You can then set a Stop cue to stop Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 and auto-activate 1 second (say) after the end of LC1.

Although I haven't tried it, this method should work and has the advantage that you can still have some other cues running. The Stop cue has a limit of five specific cues.

You could also auto-activate the start of the following new cue, based on LC1. As long as you label the cue clearly, you'll know what's going on.

Yup, works great! That was my introduction to using the auto-activation feature, I'm beginning to see the versatility of SCS. I automated a bunch of previously manual stop cues, fantastic!

You aren't by any chance doing "The Beams are Creaking" The situation you describe is alost exactly the opening scene in this play!!

John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany", adaptation by Simon Bent. My first show with SCS, it performed the above and many other multiple cross fades excellently.
