10 que loopback

need some help for an upcoming halloween haunt maze with 10 scenes. It has 8 zones for audio and i will be using my m-audio 410, 1 scene will need to play at a time. then at the start of scene 6 we will let another group in the maze so it will need to start back at que 1. at the end of scene ten it will all have to loopback and start all over again. any help will be greatly appreciated.

I presume that when the second group comes in and hears cue 1, the first group will continue thru scenes 6-10? This would imply you could have two groups of people in the maze at one time, and need to play different cues for each group. How many cues do you have? Just one for each scene?

thanks for your help. Yes you are correct the first group will continue on through scene 6-10. Yes there will be two groups in the maze at one time and play different ques for each group. There will be one background que that will loop and play on scenes 3-8. besides that i only have ten ques. One per scene.

Here's one suggestion which may be suitable:
- set up your cues for scenes 1-5 or 1-6 as normal, ie as manual-start cues, or maybe some of them could be auto-start cues if they are run a set time after the end of a previous cue
- set up the remaining cues (for scenes 6-10 or 7-10) as hot keys. You could use function keys F6-F10 as hot keys.
When the first group comes in you start your cues from the first cue. Progress through the cues as the group moves thru the maze. When the second group comes in click on the first cue in the grid to reposition the cue list at the first cue. You can now play the cues for the
second group as you did the cues for the first group, for scenes 1-5 or 1-6. When a group is in scenes 6-10 or 7-10 use the appropriate hot keys to activate the required cues.
With this approach, the cue for scene 6 should be on a hot key if the cue is to be started
after you reposition the cue list at the first cue ready for the next group. However, if the cue is to be started
before you reposition the cue list then that cue could be a manual-start or auto-start cue instead of a hot key cue. I'd favor making it a hot key cue so you can reposition the cue list at any time during scene 5 - you don't have to wait for scene 5's cue to end.

just tried it this way and it seems to be working good, the only problem that i may have is being able to see when i would need to trigger the hot ques. the sound booth will be outside the maze. also tried running all ques in auto mode and when scene 5 is over i manually start que 1 again. sometimes the audio plays and sometimes there is no sound. i have all ques set to "standby when que ends".

This doesn't seem like it should be that difficult:
If your scenes are automatically timed with respect to each other:
- create 2 identical cues, each with 10 sub-cues in them.
- The 10 sub-cues are your scene tracks and are timed to start relative to the beginning of the sequence.
- Set up the two queues to be keyed on A and B. There you have it. Start A when the first group goes in, then start B when the second group goes in, then start A again when the third group goes in, etc.
If your scenes are manually timed by you:
- create 10 individual cues, hotkey each of them.
I can't remember what the standy function does, but it doesn't seem like you would need anything special since you're going to play out each cue to completion, right?

Setting the 'set standby' option on a cue will keep the cue open when it has finished, but this is probably not necessary in this scenario. Hot key cues are kept open anyway, and just re-positioning the cue list at the first cue (or any cue) should be fairly quick. Standby cues are useful if you may need to replay a particular cue, and for that reason the standby cue has its own 'go' button.
When you say that sometimes there is no sound when you start cue 1 again, what is happening with the level slider? Is it on minimum (-96db) and not fading in? Do you have a fade-in time on the cue? Also, is the progress slider moving showing SCS is playing the cue?

Mike and John, Thanks alot for your help! its working now with 2 cues on hot keys with 10 sub-cues in each. just to let you guys know i have been using SCS for over a year now with 3 major shows and 10 small ones ,and its nice to now that there are people out there who can help.. THANKS..
