Any MIDI cues limitations

Post by kharney » Sat Mar 24, 2007 9:01 am

I am wondering if there are any limitations as to the cue numbers for transmitting MIDI. For example can I trigger cue # 10.1 if the light board allows such a number cue - which most do or does it have to be a whole number like 1 or 7. And what is the maximum cue # is it 99 or 999 or 9999 or unlimited ? In other words can I trigger any cue number that can be created by the other device. I believe that all devices are MSC.

Thanks

For MSC messages SCS has no limitation on the size of the cue number. For MSC, SCS accepts digits (0-9) and period (.), so you can send 10.1 as an MSC cue number.
