AVAST says SCS downloads contain Win32:Trojan-gen

Mike,

After the latest AVAST virus database update, it now flags all V9 executables as containing a virus as per the subject.

Obviously they do not, but there must be something virus-like inside that makes Avast think it is. Perhaps you could contact Avast and try and finf out what is causing it?

Thanks for letting me know, Dave. I use Avast myself and have confirmed your posting. On further investigation it appears the 'virus' is reported only in the packaged files, eg setupscs9demo.zip and setupscs9demo.exe. However, a full scan of all the files that go into these packaged files does not report a virus anywhere.

I have sent an email to Avast Tech Support.

AVAST have issued an updated virus database that had fixed the problem.

I've been unable to check this out for a few days but hopefully this is now clear. I don't get any 'virus' reported using AVAST VPS 738-3.
