Hi,
If I have multiple audio file queues playing different parts of the same audio file at different times, is the file only loaded into memory once?
Thanks,
Quick query on audio files in multiple cues
Re: Quick query on audio files in multiple cues
Do you want to ask: If more than one cue references the same audio file, will this file be loaded only once in memory?
Re: Quick query on audio files in multiple cues
Pretty much - don't know where the "queue" came from, I typed "cue"!
Let me be more specific:
I have a 1 hour audio file cue running with a loop to provide a background. Also in that same file, outside the area looped in the first cue, are a number of sections that I want to use for spot effects dropped in here and there with audio file cues as required by the script.
If I reference the same audio file in those cues as is playing in the loop, does SCS use the already loaded file (hopefully) or does it load further copies? It the latter, then I am better off extracting the spot effects into separate files.

Re: Quick query on audio files in multiple cues
Please email us the log file from a run in which you have these cues loaded and run. We can then check the relevant function calls. Log files are created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of each file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Email the file to support@showcuesystems.com.

I will once I've programmed the show! First tech meeting this week, it'll be a few weeks after that I have a show file ready.
