I cannot figure out this "How to"

Post by KenWinter » Thu May 02, 2024 11:59 pm

I've created a SCS with about 66 videos.
On my dual screen desktop, it presents perfectly.
When I attach a projector through HDMI, the SCS screen shows with the video in a small box on the upper right hand side.
I see the column that says "v:2 a:default:.

How would I change the output to the projector.

Thanks,
Ken Winter

What screen number is the projector in windows? Windows\settings\display. If there is no screen 2 SCS will make a small preview window.
The projector normally becomes monitor 2 and you neeed to extend you desktop onto it by choosing extend these displays in the multiple displays dropdown.
You will need to restart SCS once this is set up for it to pick up the screen changes.

Windows 11 has the solution.

Windows Key + P brings the old menu optopns up.

I selected extend.

Problem solved.

Thank you.

Pardon the thread necro, but I have a similar issue that JUST popped up yesterday.

I'm running an up to date windows 11 PC using Nvidia Studio drivers. I have been using SCS for a LONG time. I am running SCS 11.7.1.3. I haven't updated because it's been working like a champ for years.

Previously, when I'd connect an external, HDMI display with my desktop set to extend displays, window 2 was used for the video displays. Now, no matter what I do in windows, my personal display is used as the cue display instead of the extended display. In the options, I can't change where the display it output to.

I do not have the same problem in another machine with an identical install and set up. I even used the same file. Would this point to an OS issue (where my computer is not communicating the correct screen assignment to SCS)?

Thank you everyone! Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried the option 'Swap monitors 1 and 2'? This is under Options/General.

You can also check in Options \ Video Driver Settings that Screen(s) for cues is set to the correct display, normally 2.
In the video cue editing screen you can set the individual Screen(s) by clicking the "Screen" button.

There is also a known bug where if your screen 2 is set to the left of screen 1 in the windows screen settings some display problems can occur.
