I have a problem when starting an audio cue. This cue has to be very accurate.
When this cue is started for the first time there is a very small delay. I quess around 0.05 sec. But you can notice it.
When I then hit escape and start the cue again there is no delay.
Has this to do with some sort of setting? My Pre-Open audio file setting is 10 cues and video is 3 files.
Hope this can be solved in an easy way.

Very small delay when starting a cue
Re: Very small delay when starting a cue
It happens to me too. I think it's due to some power saving settings of windows that stops the audio output. I've resolved by putting a 3 hour length silence track at the beginning of my show and keep it running all the time.
Maybe Mike is it possible to make scs keep occupied the audio output all the time to prevent some windows power saving?

Re: Very small delay when starting a cue
I detected this behavior in w11 with realtek internal audio chipset with any audio or video software.
I've seen this behavior inside Nuendo while playing if there is a section with no sound. Some milliseconds at the start of an audio segment do not sound.
This do not happen with any external audio device I used.

@Vellemum
I've been investigating a little with my laptop, and I can reproduce the behavior and fix it.
If I stop the computer by closing the display (or suspending or hibernating) and then start it, the small delay persists.
If I shut de computer down with the windows button and the start it, the delay is gone.
If I restart the computer before I run SCS the delay is gone too.
May be this helps.

Re: Very small delay when starting a cue
There are reported sleep issuse with windows and audio drivers.
First:
Set the power settings on the PC to full/ high power and also look in the advanced power settings for possible culprits.
There are 2 programs you can try Sound Keeper v1.3.0
and
An application is called REal or REduce Audio Latency. It is available on GitHub.
DuckDuckgo had suggestions forHP laptops and a registry hack amoungst others.
My search term was "small audio delay after windows sleep".
If you find a solution please post it on here.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Next week I have time for some testing and will report back.

Re: Very small delay when starting a cue
Sorry for the late reply.
I tried the solution by playing a silent audio file during the cues that needs to be accurate.
I think it helped but the I couldn't test it properly because the problem was always solved when you stop the cue and try it again.
You have to wait some time, and I dont know how long, before the 'sleep' problem would exist again. So testing takes a lot of time.
For me it was a workable solution. So case is closed for me.
But thanks for all the suggestions.
