SCS 11.10.0 Available

Post by Mike Daniell » Fri Jan 19, 2024 4:46 pm

SCS 11.10.0 is now available on the Download page of the Member Area.

New and Changed Features in SCS 11.10.0
  • Art-Net and sACN are now supported for Lighting Cues.
  • SCS Cue Markers are now available for Video File Cues as well as for Audio File Cues. The editing screen for Video File Cues has been enhanced to include an audio graph in which cue markers may be added or edited.
  • In Production Properties / Devices, the number of device entries displayed for each device type was fixed according to the limit available with the license level. To improve efficiency these displays are now dynamically sized.
  • In the editor screen for Audio File cues, the display of audio devices is now dynamically sized.
  • A new Cue Activation Method has been added: 'External (Complete)'. This is similar to 'External (Trigger)' except that if the cue is currently playing then it must complete (or be stopped) before it can be restarted.
  • Wherever you need to enter a MIDI Time Code you can now use "." to tab between the component fields. This enables you to enter MTC times just using keys on the numeric pad.
  • The Korg nanoKONTROL2 can now also be used for controlling SCS Faders. This enhancement includes a 'preset' that enables you to control the device levels of the first currently-playing audio file sub-cue, ie giving you nanoKONTROL2 control of the device levels shown in the cue panels.
  • In the Editor you can now call an external editor to edit audio, video or image files. In Editing Options you select the external editors you wish to use.
  • For cues with an Activation method of 'Callable Cue', any parameters supplied were previously only supported by subordinate Lighting sub-cues and MIDI Control Send sub-cues. Callable cue parameters may now also be used in fade times of subordinate Audio File sub-cues, Level Change sub-cues, and SFR sub-cues. A pop-up help message advising you of the available fields can be displayed by hovering the mouse over a question mark (?) indicator to the right of the callable cue parameters field.
  • Added VST Plugins to the Editing menu in the main window when the toolbar is not displayed (eg for Performance mode).
  • An updated version of the 'Control Send Remote Device' file is included which includes MIDI support for the A&H dLive and Avantis consoles. Thanks to Jörg Dietze for providing the update.
  • The 'Control Send Remote Device' file now also includes support for the Behringer WING. Thanks to Pavel Borisovich for providing the information for this update.
  • Improvements have been made to the editor screen for creating and editing of DMX Capture Lighting Cues.
  • A hotkey may now activated by clicking on the hotkey in the hotkey list, if the appropriate Run Time setting is selected. This is primarily designed for controlling SCS remotely from a device that displays the SCS screen but not (easily) a keyboard.
  • The audio graph display in the editor for Audio File cues will now display a notification message if the length of the audio file exceeds the maximum length set in Editing Options, instead of just showing blank.
  • The default value for 'Minimum Audible Audio Level' in Production Properties / Run Time Settings has been changed back to -75dB following reports from some users of fades not working properly with the previous default of -160dB. They were 'working properly' but much of the fade was inaudible with the equipment (eg speakers) being used.
  • Some additional settings have been provided for the 'Minimum Audible Audio Level' in Production Properties / Run Time Settings, now providing -75dB, -100dB, -120dB, -140dB and -160dB.
  • When using SoundMan-Server (SM-S), SCS Platinum users may set a cue's Activation Method to 'Linear Time Code' (LTC) with playback of the cue's Audio File(s) locked to incoming LTC received by a dedicated Live Input device.
  • The change made in SCS 11.9.6 to limit the movement of the main window's splitter bar has now been made a Display Option, set by default. If cleared then the main window's splitter bar may be moved all the way down to hide the cue panels, or all the way up to hide the cue list.
  • HTTP processing has been redesigned to support additional external equipment, such as WLED controllers.
  • The maximum number of 'Favorites' in the editor's toolbar has been increased from 6 to 8.
  • Group Cues: Although SCS does not support 'Group Cues', the Help file explains how common scenarios for this requirement can be met by using 'Enable/Disable Cues'. See 'Group Cues' under 'Miscellaneous' in the Help for details.
Bugs Fixed
  • Changing the Operational Mode (eg from Design Mode to Performance Mode) did not apply any necessary adjustments to the main window's toolbar until SCS was closed and restarted.
  • Some MTC quarter-frame messages could be sent before the relevant full-frame message on starting a second MTC cue.
  • Some MTC quarter-frame messages were not sent at all when running the 64-bit version of SCS.
  • If a production uses an RS232 port and due to some other device connection issues SCS displays the warning message that some devices were not found, then after connecting those missing devices and clicking 'Try again', SCS would then report that the RS232 device 'cannot be activated'.
  • If you had a video audio device defined in Production Properties with a name other than 'Default' (or your chosen language equivalent) then SCS would add a 'Default' video audio device.
  • Fading in an Audio File cue may not have completed the fade in unless the fade in type was Linear.
  • When running with SoundMan-Server (SM-S) as the audio driver, a stereo file played to a mono output would play 6dB too high. WARNING! This fix will affect current cue files that have stereo files played to mono outputs, where SM-S is the selected audio driver.
  • In versions since SCS 11.9.1 the VU meters for video file cues were not activated due to a bug in the TVideoGrabber video playback library. A new version of the library is now included which has fixed the bug.
  • When printing the cue list, the printed output could result in the leftmost and rightmost columns overflowing the edges of the printed output, and this could also have affect the page headings.
  • SCS 11.9.7 included a change related to SCS not finding a device map for this cue file, and looking for a 'best match' device map file. However, that code did not check for the same lighting devices so could assign an incompatible device map.
  • 'Import Devices from another SCS Cue File' could incorrectly import details for devices that do not exist in the current cue file, eg import lighting device assignments into the device map of a cue file that itself doesn't contain any lighting devices.
  • When using a backup computer, hotkey actions on the primary computer were not being sent to the backup computer.
  • A Playlist cue set to repeat would not repeat if crossfades were set and if 'Save Playback Position' was selected.
  • In the editor for Playlist cues, the various trim and level adjustments available under 'Other Actions' were incorrectly processed. This error first occurred in SCS 11.9.6 with the addition of -75dB and -60dB in the level selections. (This error did not affect the trim adjustments of Audio File cues.)
  • Fixed an error in the format of the SCS recovery file, which is used to assist you in recovering changes following a program or machine failure.
  • Fixed some issues with DMX Cue Control.
  • Changes made to certain Production Property devices were not reset correctly after processing 'Undo' or 'Redo' in the Editor.
  • Fixed an error related to deleting a Device Map.
  • Fixed some issues with importing cues from another SCS cue file.
  • A change to the 'Minimum Audible Audio Level' in Production Properties / Run Time Settings was not recognized until SCS was closed and restarted.
  • Changing the selected Device Map could throw errors, especially if this resulted in the audio driver being changed.
  • When using the backup feature (see 'Functional Mode') the backup computer could lose connection with the primary computer after a few minutes.
Some features may not be available in all license levels. Please check the 'Feature Comparison' section of the Help for details.
