Show Cue System

Hi,

Firstly Happy New Year to all.

I have an 90 minute MP4 slide show file in a project that has worked in SCS on two other laptops but this one it doesn't.

It also works using the regular video players but not in SCS.

I have checked everything against the other laptop and all data except the screen size is the same so I'm not sure what it is.

The Surface Pro 5 is 2160x1440 which works but the Dell Latitude at 1920x1280 doesn't. I am using a copy of the same file.

In the Edit Cue Properties. The first slide shows but when I touch the play button, it blinks then stays there.

When I play the cue in the timeline, the small viewer flashes for a second then disappears and it goes to the next audio cue.

In the timeline view, the state of the video shows as 'Completed', although it is 90 minutes long.

As I said, the file does work in other video players, so it is not the file as it works in the other laptop with the same 11.9.8 SCS.

Any ideas please?

Please email me the log file from a run in which this happened. Log files are created and saved in a folder named "SCS Logs" under "Documents", and the name of each file includes a time-stamp indicating when the log started. Email the file to support@showcuesystems.com.

Well as I didn't think it was the SCS program, I decided to look right into the Latitude and found that either a recent Windows Update or a corrupt driver, was the culprit.

Took a lot of time and delving into it but I finally installed an older Realtek Audio driver and that fixed it.

Now it all works just fine.

It seems a recent Win update has caused a bit of Audio trouble for some, so it may have been that. I have another Dell Latitude but different model and it was not effected and still uses the newer driver so who knows ??

Anyway, if you have similar probs, go back a driver and see if it works before you spends hours looking at everything.
