Make a Mobile Phone Ring

Is there a way to have SCS send a signal over WiFi to a mobile phone to make it ring?

• The phone doesn't have to actually ring, just play the ringtone sound.

• I can use MIT App Inventor to have an app on the phone that will play a sound upon receiving a signal.

• I want to also stop the sound (when the phone is answered).

I basically want the sound of the phone ringing to come from the phone itself as opposed to a speaker. The set up is such that the show is in the round and all the speakers are "behind" the audience. There is no opportunity to have any on stage speakers.

Not sure if it is too late.

Years ago I used an app called StageCaller
https://www.disappointedpig.com/projects/stagecaller/

Works on both iOS and Android.
It does exactly what you want.
It was a bit problematic for us due to WiFi issues in the venue and the number of devices we were using, I think we had eight phones.
There was a small cost for each device at the time.
I do not think it is being actively updated anymore but it is worth having a look.
