Hi,
In Perform mode if I need to stop a cue, it seems I am unable to unless I use the red button to stop the whole project.
Fittsly is that correct and if so how can I get the cursor to actually automatically go to the start of the project when I do press that red butt?
Obviiosly still ldearning

I'm not quite sure what you what to do. The red 'Stop All' button is a panic button, intended for use if you accidentally start a cue early, or (far more likely

) the actors mess up. This button stops any currently-playing cues and resets the cue list at the first of those cues that were stopped by this action. In many cases that will be just one cue.
If you want to go to the start of the project (ie to the first cue), use the Home key. This is the default key for this purpose, as defined in Options/Shortcuts against 'Cue List Top'.
If you want to stop what's playing
and go to the top of the list then you will need to click the red 'Stop All' button (or press Esc) and then press Home.

The red 'Stop All' button is a bit drastic if you just want to stop the running cue in Performance Mode, when the individual cue transport buttons disappear. Indeed, if your Performance Mode is set up to hide the toolbar, you will have to resort to 'Esc' to stop a cue.
Slightly less abrupt is 'Fade All' (Shift + Esc), which does the same thing but introduces a fade to the running cue(s) when stopping.
In both cases the cue list resets to the beginning of the playing cue(s) as described by Mike.
In my projects I like to have the ability to stop an unspecified cue before its end, perhaps if there is more music than necessary for a scene change, or for a lecture illustration, without having to foresee it for each likely cue. I set up a SFR cue to 'Fade out and then Stop - all playing audio cues', with a time override of 5 seconds, give it the number Q900 so that it goes to the end of the list, and make the Activation 'Hotkey (Trigger)'. I usually make the Hotkey 0 (Zero) on the number pad, which is easy to get at, and describe it as 'Stop All'. When used, the cue completes and then waits at the next cue in the list.
If you wish, you can reposition as described by Mike, using the 'Home' to go to the top of the project, or the cursor keys to select another cue. You can also use the mouse to select another cue, but in Performance Mode SCS will ask for confirmation of the move.
I hope that helps and I am not telling you something you already know.
