Cues not playing / cutting out

Post by YMezeli » Mon Jul 10, 2006 10:02 pm

I wondered if anyone had encountered this problem, or could offer me some advice.

I am running SCS version 9.1.5 from a toshiba sattilite P20 laptop using a M-Audio firewire 410 sound card.

During running of the show occasionaly cues will not play or cut out whilst playing.

I have removed anti-virus software from the laptop ( I have looked for zonealarm but can't find it on my laptop) and set the pre-buffer and playback buffer to 2500 ms and i have unchecked 'use software mixer'. But I am still ecountering problems.

Please Help !

Regards Yamina

Hey I have similar problem with my IBM laptop + fw410 system. Sometimes while playing, cue starts to stutter like a 50 ms loop and then play again

Kalle,

What you need to do is increase the pre-buffer and playback buffer times. There is, unfortunately, a bug in 9.1.5 in that the playback buffer time is not remembered between sessions. That bug is fixed in 9.2.1. The pre-buffer length cannot be more than the buffer length - it is actually capped at the buffer length. The maximum setting for both is 5000 milliseconds (5 seconds) and there should be no problem if you set them both to this value.

Also, check the SCS Help regarding the 'Audio Driver' settings, because this gives info on certain issues that can interfere with playback.

I'll email you separately with details of how you can get 9.2.1 now.

Regards,
Mike
