Help needed with Callable Cues

Post by SilverTech » Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:36 am

Using 11.7.1.3 I tried to start using Callable Lighting Cues for this production, but I see no way to view the cue to check I have the state as I need it.
If I use Live DMX Test I get a mixture of previous cues and the current cue. I've tried Fade Other Active Channels but that didn't help. What am I mising please?

Again using Callable Cues how would I crossfade to a new cue? Do I have to create one Callable Cue with 'Do not Fade Others' and one with 'Use fade Time'?

I use to play theatre shows (musicals).
I create as many callable lighting cues as different lighting scenes I have.
Each lighting scene is fully contained (it has the state of all lighting devices).
I start creating a lighting cue with all fixtures grouped to find it as easy as possible.
I design the scene in live mode.
I copy a cue to create a new one with the changes needed.

In the other side I have some hotkeyed lighting scenes with control for special effects only. Strobo, smoke, phirothectics...
I have two hotkeys to control each effect with set and reset of needed elements.

I hope this could help,
Lluís

I've been working on some changes to Lighting Cues to simplify the way in which you create, edit and test these cues. This includes a change to the Live DMX Test processing, allowing you to choose whether or not to blackout other active channels when running the test. Also, in this new version, SCS no longer tries to determine the pre-cue lighting state. That was not really workable, especially with the use of callable cues.

I've just completed a production with 75 Lighting Cues, using some of the changes in this new version of SCS, and also that contributed to the design changes.

I think, SilverTech, this may help you with the problems you have encountered. If you or anyone else would like to try this new version of SCS, please email me. The Help file has been updated for the Lighting Cues, but the Help file changes have not been completed for other program changes.
