[Resolved] Audio Output Channels, only see 2 channels

Post by bsanker » Tue Mar 26, 2019 4:39 am

Not sure if this is a SCS, SM-S or windows problem. I have SM-S with 16x16 channels but can only select the 2 channels going out. I am connected to a Mackie DL32r via USB. I can see all 32 channels in the windows mixer but can only select 2 channels (L/R). Since I am using SM-S I select channels 15 and 16. SM-S is supposed to allow all 16 channels of output. How do I get windows to let me output all?

As a work around I am sending my live microphones out through the 2 channels with my SFX but would like to be able to also send to other components like the monitors or intercom system without being heard in the house sound.

I know very little about SM-S, but are you using the dongle?

I read in the Help file:
Important Note: If you have an SM-S license and dongle, then please use the dongle! Running SM-S without the dongle restricts you to demo mode which at the time of writing supports only 2 inputs, 2 outputs and 4 playbacks.
Just a thought. May be something else entirely.

What do you have selected as the Audio Driver in SCS? See Production Properties - Audio Output Devices. You should have "ASIO (using SM-S)" but from your explanation it seems like you have "DirectSound".

Mike had Asio (SM-S) selected. I solved just solved the problem. I was mapping the channels backwards in the Mackie Masterfader app.
