Show Cue System

So I'm pretty new to SCS, I've run one show successfully, and have just upgraded to use it for lights as well.

Just recently I went to start creating my second show, I created a new blank production, selected the device map I'd previously created for the last show, but when I look in the production properties the device map is empty.

Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong, I'm on a Windows 7 box if that makes any difference?

Device maps are production-specific, so just having the same device map name will not link back to that from an earlier production. If you are wanting to use a device map several times then I suggest you create a 'template'. To do this, open a cue file that has the required device map and then click on the Templates button in the main window. Here you can 'create a new template from the current cue file'. In the dialog that follows you will select what you want to include in the template, which may be just your device info, but you can also include some cues if relevant. Thanks MIke, that makes perfect sense. I found the import device map functionality but templates will be a lot more convenient
