Dante VIA

Has anyone had any success with getting Dante VIA to pick up SCS as a source device?
In SCS I can select Audio driver "ASIO (using BASS) and then pick up Dante Via (x64) as a physical device, and choose outputs ... but ...
When applying Device Changes I get an error message saying "Audio Output Device Dante Via (x64) cannot be initialized (not connected or not started?)
However, if I use Audio Driver DirectSound (using BASS) and choose Dante Via Transmit (Dante Via) then VIA does work - but of course this is only 2 channels.
