Audio output to USB device selection - solved

Post by Robin D » Sat Jul 15, 2017 6:07 am

Hopefully this will help anyone else struggling with this issue.

Using SCS11 under Windows10 64 bit and a Behringer U-PHONO UFO202 device. Every other player software including Nero, VLC, Media Player etc... worked fine, but SCS wouldn't output via the USB which was now the Windows 'default' output device.

This thread http://showcuesystems.com/forum/viewtop ... f=1&t=2616, especially the screenshot eventually gave me the method of dealing with it, although hardly in a location where I would expect to find it, :( The 'default' audio device was set, but I had to specifically pick the USB device at which point it all worked. :-)

I then found that if you set up a new project with the USB device already attached, it allows you to specifically select the correct device when creating the new show file.

So.... always connect the USB device and let it load BEFORE loading SCS.

On the other hand, it might just have been me being and idiot and just expecting it to work. And fancy me not realising that I should go into the header recorder of the project to get to the output selector rather than finding it under options or settings!

Late to the party, but...

Besides getting it detected for the production settings, I've found the when you turn things on in the theatre, it's best to have you UCA202 connected and working before you start SCS. It seems to be a bit random whether SCS will pick up your interface if you plug in the USB after starting SCS. Indeed, I'm OCD enough that I like to have whatever interface I'm using connected before booting up the computer.
