Use of Auto Start sub cues

Post by Bob Howes » Wed Oct 19, 2016 5:32 pm

I'm going crazy!

I have SCS Standard. On a production I'm working on now, I have multiple cues that I want to start (as a manual cue) at full level, then, after six seconds, fade to a lower level for dialogue.

I'm trying to do this using a Sub cue set to auto start 6 seconds after the start of the present cue. This worked perfectly the first few times I tried it but then it suddenly began to switch the original manual cue to Auto start and set it off after some random previous manual cue. I can't think of anything I'm doing different from the ones that worked and, to fix the bad ones I've tried both editing the cues as they stand and also deleting the entire cue/sub cue combination and starting again.

Any hints would be gratefully accepted!

Could you email me two diagnostic files? The first one should be created when you have a clean cue list, with the relevant sub-cues set as required. When the problem occurs again create the second diagnostic file. Please tell me which cue(s) are affected.

You can create a diagnostic file by selecting 'Create Diagnostic File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Diagnostics" under "Documents" or "My Documents".

Thanks for your offer of help but the process of checking which cues worked and which didn't for the diagnostic file has led me to the solution. I was filling in the "Auto Start" section in the main cue section (the green area at the top of the edit) as well as in the sub cue section below. I've now fixed a couple and it seems okay.

Now my mystery is how I got the first ones to work!

Anyway, I'll keep plugging away and if my fix doesn't work, I'll send the diagnostic files

Thanks again from spring-like Toowoomba!

Bob
