mp4 plays too fast

Post by Sleepstorm » Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:49 am

I recently bought secondhand Shuttle XPC's twice, running Windows XP. The idea was that one will be our Cubase machine, that provides backing tracks, VSTi's and program changes via midi out; the other one will be our visuals server, running SCS configured as a midi-in-triggered video playback, controlled by Cubase.
The second XPC I configured as the video server, but discovered that the installed Blackmagic video HW was not supported. No problem, because my first XPC had an (old) nVidia card with two DVI outputs. So I switched the intended purposes of the 2 machines. But on the new video server, the older XPC, I could not play mp4's while using TVG, so I installed FFDShow, as mentioned in the help section. The files showed up in SCS (11.4) but played at a rate of appr. 700%! (7 times normal speed) with loads of freezes. This problem I did not have on the other XPC. On that machine I even never had to install FFDShow.
I tried updating Quicktime, searched for other codec-packs... Deinstalled and reinstalled FFDShow, but to no avail. Can anyone give a hint? Thanks! :?

I've emailed you details of a test program to run on both machines. The info from these tests should tell me which video codec is being used on each machine.
