Show Cue System

Hi all,

Can SCS read external timecode (MTC or SMPTE) and if so how can I set a cue to fire from it?

Not currently, although I have plans to include triggering cues from internally-generated MTC. I've just been looking at the program code and should also be able to include triggering cues from external MTC.

Triggering by MTC (internal or external) should be available soon - it's on my list of enhancements for the next release - probably 11.4.

I should have a test version of this available soon. I've just run some tests successfully triggering SCS cues by externally-generated MTC sent from MIDI-OX.

For other users, please note that using MTC to trigger cues will require an SCS Professional Plus or higher license.

Is it possible for SCS to read LTC from a track in a Cue and show it in a window. ie act like a TC reader from a cue.

Not currently. If you are wanting the LTC track from an audio file then that LTC track would have to be handled by the underlying audio software. The BASS audio library (the default audio library used by SCS) doesn't support this. However, SoundMan-Server (the alternative audio engine) can handle a SMPTE track for syncing audio tracks, and it may be possible for SCS to interrogate the time code reader. I'd have to look into this more.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The scenario i have is that our music department provides us with a stereo audio file with Music on left and LTC on the right.

We would like the stage management and choreography team to be able to see an internal TC reader(as there is often an offset in the TC) which is reading the LTC, and also route the music to laptop speakers. without needing additional software or hardware.

It would definitely be a feature that would be useful, as this scenario happens a lot for the jobs that i do.
