Hi I have recently changed a laptop from XP to windows 7. Loaded SCS 11.3 with no trouble and everything works fine, except there is no output. The VU meter is showing me that SCS is sending something out, but it does not reach the outside world.
The laptop is fine with other sound sources - CD, online etc.
The same SCS show file works fine on another laptop that still runs XP.
I guess there is a windows 7 setting somewhere that I have missed? Presumably since other sound sources are fine then it is not a driver issue? I have a vague recollection of seeing this somewhere before on the forum, but couldn't locate it.
Thanks.
Phil

Re: windows 7 no output
I've had a couple of other reports of this, Phil, and from logs I've received it appears there is a potential issue of the wrong device being set in Production Properties - Audio Output Devices. For example, you may find your output is being sent to the S/PDIF output instead of the Speakers output, or whatever it was you intended.
I'm looking into the cause of this.

Re: windows 7 no output
I've found the cause of this and have emailed you details of a new version to try.
What was happening in 11.3.0 was that when SCS created a new 'device map' it did NOT start with the default sound device, whereas 11.2 and earlier versions did so. I've now fixed that for 11.3.1. However, your existing cue file that plays no sound is probably pointing to a different audio device, so you will need to change that device in Production Properties. But for any new production the new version should select the default sound device first (when using the new version - 11.3.1).
I'll issue 11.3.1 on general release when I get confirmation that this fixes the problem. Unfortunately I cannot test this here as my connected devices do not produce the problem.
