Wireless Remote Control of SCS?

Has anyone on this forum been successful in controlling an SCS computer over a wireless network via another computer? I've been attempting to control one of my laptops with another over a private wireless network I've set up, but for some reason I cannot get Remote Desktop working, despite the fact that I've made sure to upgrade the OS on each machine to be able to use Remote Desktop (Win7 Professional on one machine; Win8 Professional on the other).
Any advice?

For simple control such as running cues or navigating the cue list, you can do that with any device capable of sending telnet commands. I've done this with an android smart phone running an app called Blowtorch, which allows user defined buttons to be programmed with telnet strings. I've also used the phone as a rigger's remote via telnet for controlling lighting software (in this case LightFactory). SCS Professional Plus license required to use telnet.
