[In 11.2.1] GO command via LS9

Post by thevin » Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:53 am

I have set up a custom control chage midi Q from a Yamaha LS9 to SCS.
It works fine, but will only operate on an on button push is Command 0 or an off push is command 127.
In Qlab you can set it to receive all commands from a certain control change. But in SCS you have to set the number between 0-127
Is there a way to get SCS to Go on all control change commands.

Can you tell me how you want to use the Control Commands? I'm not familiar with the LS9 although I have downloaded the Reference Manual. Is the button push treated as a 'toggle' button, so that on alternate pushes of the button the LS9 send Control Value 0 or 127?

If you have set up SCS to at least partially implement your requirement, could you email me a diagnostic dump file? You can create this file by starting SCS and selecting 'Create Diagnostic Dump File' from the drop-down menu displayed when you click the Help button in the main window. The file will be saved in a folder named "SCS Dumps" under "Documents" or "My Documents".

Yes Daniell
That is it. It toggles between 0 & 127.
No other way of doing it on the LS9
So it would be great to have a receive ALL like in Qlab.

I haven't thought this all the way through, but would adding an "*" as a choice for controller value work? Choosing the "*" for the "GO" command would mean the GO gets triggered solely on the controller number and ignores the value. This could work for all commands that don't require a cue number, such as STOP, PAUSE/RESUME, etc.

Just a thought.

Will be available in SCS 11.2.1 which should be released in a day or two. I've implemented this using Bruce's suggestion of '*' for 'any value' associated with a Control Change MIDI command.
