Hello there!
I've been using SCS for about a year now and only recently began using all of the great functions it offers. One of them is video. I noticed there is a lot of talk about video, especially the upcoming fades and such, but I'm interested in something else.
I would like to know, from the experience of others, what formats do you find work best with SCS (v11.1.5). I've always had issues with .mov (depending on the resolution and bitrate), and .avi has almost never worked properly. I find however that .wmv is the most stable, but sometimes even here there are issues and I'm always feeling like I'm on thin ice.
So what formats are recommended? Bitrates, resolutions?
Thanks!

Re: Optimizing videos for playback
Hi
I've been using SCS for about 4/5 years now and most of the video I show is now an AVI which is converted from various formats
using 'Prism convertor' from - http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html
This can be done on both Mac or PC and the end results are perfect.
Another programme is 'Streamclip' from Square5 here - http://square5.com/?folio=869727573&bkt=4209 -
Both have varoius settings and bit rates which you can play around with until you get what is best for your situation
Good luck and don't hesitate to contact or post the forum for more help.

Hi Peter! Thanks for the reply!
I'll have a look at the software. Maybe it was really just a matter of getting some of the settings right! So far I was just using VLC to convert the videos.

Whatever you use, it is far better to use a constant bit rate, not variable.
