I have an installation of 10.9.7 where adding a jpg file causes an "Application Error" box to pop up that states "The Exception Privileged instruction (0xc000096) occured in the application at location 0x0014025a. Click on OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program. Doing either exits SCS.

Re: Application Error
David,
Does this only occur with one particular jpg file (and possibly others from the same source)?
I've just run Google searches on these errors. Regarding "The Exception Privileged instruction (0xc000096) ..." the answers I looked at suggested a variety of causes - possibly related to some other software on the computer. A couple of answers suggested rebooting Windows in safe mode, such as this posting. Someone else found the error was cleared after uninstalling a virus checker.
The "Error 480 Can't create AutoRedraw image" means "There isn't enough available memory for the AutoRedraw property to be set to True", or "Error is typically caused by a lack of resources (video memory, system memory, virtual memory, etc)". Does this help? Have you successfully added some images before the error occurs on this image file? Is the file particularly large?
Finally, if none of the above helps, could you try SCS 11 Beta 24? SCS11 is getting very close to being ready for Release Candidate status - the main hold up now being the Help file, which should be completed within the next week.

Re: Application Error
There are 7 files that are scans from an arthouse. They are approx 23 MB each. Other jpg images do load just fine. I tried these 7 files on my copy of SCS and they work just fine.

Re: Application Error
23MB is large, but I can understand that an arthouse would produce high quality images. I suggest you make copies of the images at the resolution of your video projector / screen, eg 1024x768. Any larger resolution would be scaled down at run time anyway.
